This license applies to the Kertory-JEPA research project, including its
code, model weights, trained checkpoints, documentation, and associated
files (collectively, the "Work"), made available at this repository/website.

1. PERMITTED USE (NO PERMISSION NEEDED)

You are free, at no cost, to:

  - Use the Work for personal, academic, and research purposes.
  - Study, modify, and experiment with the Work.
  - Share and redistribute the Work (or your modifications of it), as long as:
      a) You keep this license file with any copy you distribute.
      b) You give clear credit: "Based on Kertory-JEPA by Vikash Kumar."
      c) You do not use it, or anything derived from it, for commercial
         purposes (see Section 2).
  - Publish papers, blog posts, or other non-commercial write-ups that
    reference, benchmark, or build on the Work, with credit as in (b).

2. COMMERCIAL USE (PERMISSION REQUIRED)

"Commercial use" means any use of the Work, or anything derived from it,
that is intended for or directed toward commercial advantage or monetary
compensation. This includes, without limitation:

  - Selling the Work, a modified version of it, or access to it.
  - Using the Work (or a fine-tuned/derived version) inside a paid product,
    paid service, or internal tool at a for-profit company.
  - Offering the Work as part of a paid API, SaaS product, or consulting
    engagement.

Commercial use of any kind requires prior written permission from the

FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL
THE AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING
FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE WORK OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS
IN THE WORK.

4. TERMINATION

Any use that violates Section 2 (commercial use without permission)
automatically terminates your rights under this license. Rights can be
reinstated only by obtaining the required written permission.

5. CHANGES TO THIS LICENSE

The copyright holder may release future versions of the Work under a
different license. This does not affect the license terms for any version
already distributed under this license.
